NEXT FIGHT TBC
I was 15 years old when I first started training in mixed martial arts (MMA) my elder brother Sergio had begun training at a local club and invited me to join him. I was a bit unsure at first because I had never really thought about taking up a martial art but I loved my first session and the rest is history, I started training more and more. I was lucky because I was the only teenager training at the club, it meant that I had a hard time trying to grapple and wrestle with fully grown men but it defiantly helped my development in the long run.
In 2004 in England not many people had heard about MMA or the UFC, I was lucky to be introduced to the importance of cross training from an early age. As my skills started to improve competition was the next stage for me. I started off competing in submission wrestling tournaments, then moved on to amateur MMA and muay thai before beginning my professional career. By this time my brother Sergio had taken over as the full time coach at Lancaster and Morecambe MMA, training myself and other local fighters.
In March of 2014 I heard about some trials that Tiger muay thai in Thailand were holding. They were offering a sponsorship deal that would include free training, a meal plan and accommodation assistance. I travelled to Phuket and took part in the trials along with 25 other fighters. I was lucky enough to win one of five places. Since then I have spent a lot of time in Thailand, splitting my training between Phuket and Lancaster.
For my first 15 professional fights I competed in the featherweight division(66kg) For my next fight I am moving down to the bantamweight division (61kg) I am hoping that this move will see me fight world class opposition on the biggest stage.
