6-Week Intro to MMA Begins

It’s always a pleasure welcoming new faces to the gym!

Tuesday marked the start of our 6-Week Introduction to MMA Course, designed for beginners. We know stepping into a mixed martial arts gym for the first time can feel intimidating—but most people finish their first session wishing they’d started sooner.

A big well done to everyone who hit the mats for the opening session!

Our opening session focused on building solid foundations:

  • Establishing a strong MMA stance and maintaining balance.

  • Transferring weight smoothly during punches and defensive movements.

  • Blending defensive techniques with counter-punching strategies.

  • Moving in different directions while staying balanced and composed.

MMA is an incredible sport because the learning never stops. There’s always something new to master, whether it’s striking, wrestling, or grappling.

While this might feel overwhelming at first, we hope this course gives people a steady, enjoyable, and supportive way to build confidence and develop strong skills.

I’m passionate about making mixed martial arts more accessible because it has so much to offer—both on and off the mats.
