What to wear

Please wear comfortable sports clothing without zips/buttons etc.

Required Training Gear

  • MMA gloves and mouthguard.

  • If you don’t have your own, you will be able to borrow training gear from the gym.

Private Sessions

  • Private 1:1 sessions are available for those who are looking to fast-track their development and work on specific training areas.

  • Great for those who are training for an upcoming fight, as well as being a great introduction to martial arts if you are initially apprehensive about training in a class environment.

OUR CLASSES

At Shay Walsh MMA, we offer world-class mixed martial arts training in a safe and friendly environment. Classes are suitable for all levels and abilities, with separate classes for kids (5-11 y/o), teens (12-17 y/o) and adults (18+ y/o). Come and experience top-tier instruction in a supportive and caring community.

  • MMA

    Combines all martial art disciplines - striking, wrestling and submission grappling.

  • KICKBOXING

    Striking focused on kicking and punching combinations.

  • SUBMISSION GRAPPLING

    Ground fighting with an emphasis on techniques for MMA, focused on securing positions of control and progressing to choke / joint lock submissions.

  • BOXING

    Close range punching, utilising feints, headwork and footwork.

  • FREESTYLE WRESTLING

    Grappling that focuses on takedowns, throws and pinning your opponent to the mat.

  • OPEN MAT

    A self-directed session for additional drilling or sparring practice.

  • SQUAD TRAINING

    Invite only session for competitive MMA athletes.

  • PRIVATE COACHING

    Private sessions are 1:1 training sessions that allow you to work directly with a coach to work on any area of your training such as striking, wrestling and submission grappling.
